ECU Calibration and Patching: How to Tune Your Car

If you have a SIM2K-250, -260, or -305 equipped car, you must perform the patching process before you are able to tune the car. This process requires downloading a matching file after finding the calibration ID, putting the patch file in the maps folder, and flashing the patch to the ECU in accessory mode.

To begin, you must locate the calibration ID. This is a unique number that identifies the car's ECU. The calibration ID can be found by choosing "Read ECU ID" on your device and choosing the matching ECU from this database: Vehicle List. Once you have the calibration ID, you can use it to download the matching patch file from the patch area of your account. If you do not see a matching patch, email us at csr@sxthelement.com.

Next, you must put the patch file in the maps folder of your device. Once the patch file is in the folder, you can flash it to the ECU in accessory mode. This means that the car must be turned off and the ignition turned to the accessory position (acc., two taps of power button).

It is important to make sure the car does not lose power during the patching process. If the car does lose power, the vehicle may become inoperable.

Once the patch is flashed to the ECU, the car can be tuned. This will allow you to adjust the car's performance to better suit your driving style by purchasing one of our calibrations, or having a custom version made!

By following the steps outlined above, you can easily tune your SIM2K-250, -260, or -305 car using the ECU calibration and patching process. With a few simple steps, you can get the most out of your car and enjoy a better driving experience.
